ONLINE & IN-PERSON Counselling Services

A combination of Therapy Services to help your Mind, Body, & Soul.

How I can help you.

This means I look at the individual and approach therapy to fit the needs of each client.

Although written consent is provided at the first session, I will always ask if you’re comfortable prior to beginning any new technique. It’s important that you feel ready and comfortable.

Together, we’ll work to build resilience and provide you with tools to thrive as you embrace motherhood.

Let us be your partner in this transformative time, guiding you toward healing and empowerment every step of the way.

  • Working with children.

It’s important that we equip children with a toolbox of skills to help them navigate their lives so they can become resilient, self-aware adults.

As a parent, I often had difficulty finding help for my children when they were younger. It amazed me that so many children were being diagnosed with mental health issues, but they weren’t being taught coping mechanisms in schools to help them better understand their emotions and how to regulate them. While this is slowly changing, parents know that each child learns differently.

A therapist can focus on your child as an individual and teach them an assortment of coping skills allowing the child to pick and choose what works best for them.

  • Are you feeling depressed?

Have you felt sadness for so long that you’re unable to remember when you started feeling this way? Do you feel numb or lack any feelings at all? Are you no longer experiencing pleasure or daily joy and lack the energy to do the things you once enjoyed?

These are all possible signs of depression. You should seek help if symptoms last at least two weeks or have negatively impacted your life such as no longer being able to perform at work or school and are unable to partake in your daily routine.

  • Anxiety is real!

While anxiety often occurs with depression, it can also manifest on its own. There are twelve different types of anxiety including generalized panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and separation anxiety.

Anxiety is a normal reaction to stress and is present to help us pay attention or move us along. However, anxiety disorders are types of mental health conditions that involve excessive fear or exaggerated reactions.

Therapy can provide you with coping mechanisms to work through your anxiety and can also help to adjust your mindset switching from negative outcomes to those that are positive and hopeful.

  • Have you been thru a Trauma?

Trauma is a result of exposure to an incident or a series of events that are either life threatening or emotionally disturbing and have lasting effects.

Trauma can harm your sense of safety, self, or affect your ability to self regulate emotions and navigate through relationships. This creates a lasting emotional response that affects how you navigate the world and can leave you living in fear of being re-traumatized. Therapy can help you address trauma and understand the root cause.

Therapy can also help you navigate through trauma either by subduing it so you can once again experience joy or ideally by releasing it altogether.

  • Finding your true self.

Our teenage years and our twenties are a
formative time when we pull away from our families and develop our own values, morals, and a sense of self.

However, this can also be the time when we develop an inner critic that challenges us and questions everything we do.

A therapist will listen without judgement and allow you to feel seen and heard. They can also ask the right questions and help you uncover the person you are or want to be. It’s time for you to create your own story.

Types of Therapy's

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

A type of therapy created by Marsha Linehan that teaches individuals or groups skills needed to create a life they can feel comfortable navigating through. The four key elements of DBT are mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotional regulation.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

Refers to therapy that makes us look at the way we think about life. Once we understand our thoughts, behaviours, and beliefs, we can then look at how they impact our moods, physical experiences, and actions. We then learn strategies that help adjust our mindset allowing us to see things in a different way.

Energy Work

Works with the idea that our body is an infrastructure of energy. These energies shape how we think and feel as well as how we live. Energy work includes chakra work, meditation as well as visualization techniques.

Internal Family Systems

The belief that the mind contains multiple parts, almost like separate personalities. We look at these inner parts and work with the core self to heal and integrate these parts so that an individual feels happy and complete in their life.

Somatic Therapy

Focused on getting the individual to become aware of their trauma within the body. With awareness there is often a physical release. The therapist is there to apply touch to your body while asking questions and will help track your experience as well as your sensations.

Inner Child Work / Spiritual Work

Used to gain insight into the client’s past experiences. Often a child’s needs are not met, and this technique allows individuals to retreat internally as adults and care for their inner child’s needs. This allows the client to take back control and experience the joy they felt as a child thus making them feel more connected to themselves.
